DORIS GOTHARD was born in Huntsville, Alabama. Doris is married to Donald, and she has one son, LeWayne. Doris and Donald live in Washington, Michigan, northeast of Detroit.
Doris grew up on a farm and worked in the Alabama cotton fields. She earned a degree in Pure Mathematics with a minor in Engineering from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She taught mathematics at the college level and advanced calculus to high school and college preparatory students.
Doris began her business career in 1977 when she joined General Motors. In 1986, Doris transferred to the Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Corporation to support marketing and sales efforts.
Doris is the recipient of the 1999 National Award for Women of Color in Technology. She has conducted seminars and workshops throughout the United States, Canada, South Africa and Israel. She has been the recipient of numerous awards — National 4-H Achievement, Exploring Executive Leadership, American Business Women’s Association, YMCA Minority Achiever, and Women of Excellence.
Doris is the author of five books – Seven Steps to Wealth, Finances & Spirituality, The Power of a New Attitude, Attitude: The Winner’s Edge, and Your Attitudes are Showing.
